Long Weekend Hygge Sweater

The Long Weekend Hygge Sweater is my new favorite sweater! Sweaters made with Red Heart Hygge yarn are always so comfy, and this one is no exception. I love Hygge yarn! It is so soft and silky, and it has the extra ply that makes everything look so fuzzy and inviting - especially after a couple times through the washer.

I called this sweater the Long Weekend Hygge Sweater because it can be made in just a few days - one long weekend. It knits up so quick, and the only shaping is in the sleeves. It is also nearly seamless! Worked in the round to the underarms, with the sleeves picked up at the armholes and worked top to bottom, the only seams are the short shoulder seams. It's the perfect sweater to Netflix and knit - yet the color changes kept me from getting bored. It's always so motivating when you know that in only three more rounds you get to change colors!

To make this sweater you will need six different colors of Red Heart Hygge yarn. Feel free to mix it up. I'm pretty sure any combination of colors would work. To get the best effect, mix up the cool and warm colors and use high contrast colors for the sleeves.

For the smaller sizes you can get by with one 5 ounce skein of each (except for color A - indigo in my sweater). For the larger sizes it is more efficient to buy the 8 ounce sizes so you don't need to get two smaller skeins. I've included a chart for both skein sizes so you can make the thrifty choice.

The sweater is knit using a large circumference circular needle in size 11 (8.00 mm). You will need a length that is the same or slightly smaller than the finished chest measurement for the size you are making.
